Yuri Dzivielevski Biography
Yuri Dzivielevski has Polish roots through his grandmother, which is why his surname can be read in the Polish manner as (Div-E-Le-Ski).
Yuri Martins Dzivielevski is a 32-year-old professional poker player from Brazil. His journey in poker started quite early, namely at the age of 16. Even his famous nickname “theNERDguy” was invented in his teenage years. During those years, Yuri was fond of graffiti and had a team called Nerds. At age 18, when Yuri needed to come up with a poker nickname, he decided to go with this one. Later, Yuri said that this nickname suited him well because he enjoys learning.
It turned out that at age 18 Yuri had to take on the responsibility of being the provider of the family due to financial difficulties. This was the moment when he first considered poker as an income rather than entertainment. He started practicing poker hard to help his family cope with financial difficulties.
Despite his success in poker and being the family provider, Yuri’s parents wanted him to pursue higher education like his brother and sister. After the family’s financial difficulties were over, his parents did not give up hope that their son would decide to finish college. However, Yuri realized that with the earnings he was making, it would be foolish to quit poker and go to college.
Now Yuri has become an outstanding poker player. He fully provides for his family – his wife and son. His wife supports him, allowing him to concentrate on the game during tournaments.
