Liz Lieu Biography

Lieu was born on August 2, 1974, in Hanoi, Vietnam. The family emigrated to the United States when she was two years old to start a new life. They settled in Colorado, where Liz spent most of her childhood.

The father played an important role in the formation of the girl’s character. He was a strict but fair man who instilled discipline and hard work. As a child, she was interested in mathematics and showed outstanding abilities in counting numbers, which later helped her in poker.

During her school years, Liz was a diligent student and often participated in math Olympiads. After graduating from high school, she went to college. But studying did not bring pleasure. The student was looking for something more exciting that would allow her to use her analytical skills.
