Jason Koon’s Biography

Jason was born in the very small town of Weston in West Virginia. When he was a child, the family moved to live on the farm. There were no friends, and that is why his passion and main hobby in childhood was fishing.

Jason always liked an active style of life and wanted to become stronger, to defend himself from his rude father. That is why he started to attend running and athletics classes when he was studying at Lewis County High School. His results there were impressive and at some point, he even wanted to get to the national running team.

Jason Koon graduated from school in 2003. After that, he entered West Virginia Wesleyan College to get a Masters in Business Administration and Finance. While studying in college he also continued running, but someday he had a serious injury, which was the end of his career in sports. 

After losing access to his main hobby, Jason started to play Poker, because he was bored. That is how he began a new chapter in his life. He became really interested in Poker and wanted to improve his skills. So he started to read a lot of books and train.

After graduating from college, in 2009, he got a job with the insurance company. But his main passion already was Poker, that is why he decided to leave the job and start to play professionally. 

In College, Jason also met his future wife – Bianca Armstrong. They have been dating since college, and in 2019 they finally married in California. Jason has a child, that was born in 2021.

Poker Career

When Jason was in College, his roommate taught him how to play Texas Hold’em. And that is how Jason Koon entered Poker. Since 2006, he has been playing online Poker at Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker.

Jason has good results in online Poker and always was improving his skills. So, in 2009 he already won a Spring Championship of Online Poker and got $300,000 for it. That is how he began to earn good money with online Poker. In 2009, he also played in the World Series of Poker and got two cashes there.

After that, Jason had a lot of good results in many live and online tournaments. It includes the Full Tilt Poker event, the World Poker Tour, the Bellagio Cup, and many others. But one of the most important series of tournaments for Jason is Triton Poker. There he had all his biggest winnings and popularity. Also, he got his first WSOP bracelet in 2021.
