Boris Anzhelov Angelov’s poker journey began online, influenced by talented Bulgarian players, including his close friend Alex Kulev. Post-pandemic, he transitioned to live tournaments, marking his debut on the European Poker Tour (EPT) circuit in March 2022 at the EPT Prague Main Event, where he finished 59th. This transition has positioned him among the best poker players emerging from Bulgaria.

Angelov first made his mark at the WSOPE Mini Main Event in November 2021, finishing 179th, and then achieving 40th place in the WSOPE Main Event. His dedication led him to play every EPT stop since then. His biggest live tournament win came just before the 2024 WSOP, when he finished second in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event, earning €620,500 ($663,565).

By the time he reached the final table of the 2024 WSOP Main Event, Angelov had amassed over $900,000 in live tournament winnings. At the Main Event, he earned his 20th WSOP bracelet event cash and placed sixth when action resumed, starting with 52,900,000 chips.
