Andrew Lichtenberger Biography

Andrew Lichtnebreg was born on September 20, 1987 in Brooklyn, New York. Since junior high school, Andrew was called Chewie. Later in an interview, he will recall, “Chewy has been with me since third grade. My mom would give me a Chewy Granola bar to take to school with me.” A classmate once called me ‘Chewy’ and the nickname stuck.”

As a kid, Andrew loved to ride his bike, scooter, and was into snowboarding. The whole family, along with his mom, dad and brother, played in a bowling league. He even had his own personalized ball.

During his studies, the future poker star worked as an animator in a bowling club, organized parties for children: wrote down their names, delivered food and drinks. It was there that he learned the rules of the card game (while still in high school). The owner of the bowling club often played on partypoker, Andrew Lichtnebreg learned the rules, followed the game and after a while made his first deposit. He went on to attend Stony Brook University in New York. However, he dropped out after a year and a half, because he decided to make poker his profession.
