Andrew Feldman is a (former) English poker player, who build his way up together with his sponsorship by Full Tilt Poker. On the age of 18, he was playing poker online though his older brother, and at the age of 19 he won his first major live tournament, namely the 888 UK Poker Open for $250,000. His poker career would eventually not last long, but has made quite a name in poker, on and off the felt, within that short timeframe.
Young Gun of Poker
Andrew Feldman became a poker professional at the age of 18, getting his first sponsorship through Full Tilt Poker on the age of 19. From the very beginning it was all going very well for Andrew, resulting in a big $250,000 score in 2007, as well as a $41,028 score in end of that year.
The poker community got to know Andrew as a light flamboyant poker player, who was driven by passion for the game. In October 2008 he would become one of the largest winner during partypoker Poker Den: Big Game III, collecting a nice $63,350, mostly because of winning a big clash against Finnish poker pro Juha Helppi.
Feldman mainly played cash games all over the world, but tournaments were not unknown for him either. He was part of a couple televised cash games and sit ‘n go’s such as partypoker Poker Den and the partypoker Premier League, which were very well known tv-programs at that time. During the last-mentioned event, he went ballistic against Andy Frankenberger during their heads-up battle for the win, leaving him crying after his loss when his [KxQx] could not hold up against Frankenberger’s [KxTx], as his opponent made a straight with the {Qx] on the river.
Hitting It Big
Throughout the few years Feldman was active in the live poker scene, he has played any kind of buy-in tournament, from as low as $220 up to $250,000. When looking to his results, we can see his biggest ever win of $250,000 during the finals of the 888 UK Poker Open, but also a 7th place during the €25K High Roller in Monte Carlo. He eventually finished 7th, behind the likes of William Thorson, Tony G, Florian Langmann, and eventual winner Vanessa Rousso.
One year later he managed it again to run deep during the European Poker Tour of Monte Carlo, finishing 3rd in the Heads-Up tournament, losing in the semi-finals from eventual runner-up Bertrand ‘Elky’ Grospellier. But later on in that year he would better this accomplishment in terms of earnings by finishing 4th in the WSOPE Heads-Up Championship, losing from Danish superstar, and colleague ambassador of Full Tilt Poker, Gus Hansen. To just give a bit of information about the strength of the felt: Daniel Negreanu, Huck Seed, Phil Ivey, Andrew Robl, Ram Vaswani, Martin Kabrhel..
In that same year he would become third in another $25K buy-in tournament, this time in Cyprus. Other familiar names who cashed in that tournament were David Benyamine and Jon Turner. With his result he would take home $124,402 for his efforts.
The End of an Era
After having played barely tournaments in 2012, Andrew Feldman suddenly ‘mysteriously’ disappeared from the stage. Allegedly, because he was owing poker pro Sam Trickett a chunk of money which he then failed to pay back. After, in his own words, being tired of the accusations he then deleted all his social media accounts and never showed himself anymore in any well-known tournaments.
Andrew Feldman has left controversial footsteps in the poker world, mainly by his behavior at the tables, but also off the tables. After the allegations from Sam Trickett, he starred in a Channel 4’s TV Show called ‘The Secret Millionaire’.
