The WSOP Circuit is gearing up for another round in Toronto, or at least, so it seems. While no official announcement has been made, a Facebook post appears to have leaked the expected dates, thus (at least potentially) setting the stage for another high-stakes poker showdown in Ontario’s capital. If the leak holds, WSOPC Toronto 2025 will run from April 10 to 22 at the Great Canadian Casino Resort, with GGPoker once again handling online qualifiers.
In this article, we’ll try to break down the rumors surrounding WSOPC Toronto 2025 and any truth that may be behind them.
Another WSOP Circuit Stop in Toronto?
The news first surfaced via poker media veteran Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers, who spotted a post in an Ontario-based poker group on Facebook. The post included a promotional banner listing the dates and venue, hinting that the WSOP Circuit would indeed be returning to Toronto this spring. While the Great Canadian Casino Resort has yet to confirm, multiple signs strongly suggest that it’s happening.

If the event moves forward as expected (or at least as assumed at this point), this will mark the second consecutive year that WSOP and GGPoker bring the WSOPC series to Toronto. The partnership between the two poker giants took shape earlier this year when GGPoker was named the official sponsor of The Poker Room at Great Canadian Casino Resort, effectively locking in the venue as Ontario’s go-to host for WSOP-branded events.
What to Expect from WSOPC Toronto 2025
While the full schedule still remains under wraps, a repeat of last year’s structure is a safe bet as any. To refresh your memory, the 2024 edition ran for 11 days, from March 22 to April 1, featuring eight official ring events with buy-ins ranging from CAD $250 to $3,500. The CAD $2,000 Main Event attracted 1,600 entries and generated a prize pool of CAD $2.8 million, contributing to a total series prize pool of over CAD $5.5 million. The $3,500 High Roller also crossed the $1 million mark in prize money.

Demand was off the charts, with events selling out quickly and capacity limits becoming a challenge. Given last year’s overwhelming response, the upcoming series could see even bigger fields and prize pools. However, this does mean that the organizers will need to address some logistical hurdles, including long registration lines and space constraints, to accommodate the growing interest.
Online Qualifiers (Should) Return via GGPoker
If there’s more than just rumors to the WSOPC Toronto 2025 news then GGPoker is expected to play a major role again, running online satellites on both its global platform and GGPoker Ontario. Last year, more than 300 players won seats through online qualifiers, with entry points starting as low as CAD $1. Given the success of that model, it’s likely that GGPoker will offer an even wider range of buy-ins and packages for the 2025 series.
While the official confirmation is still pending, all signs point to Toronto once again becoming a hotspot for poker action this April. With a premier venue, a massive player base, and the WSOP brand backing it, WSOPC Toronto 2025 could be another record-breaking series in the making.
WSOP Circuit Toronto 2024 Recap
While we’re waiting for an official confirmation for WSOPC Toronto 2025, let’s take a look down memory lane to the inaugural WSOP Circuit Toronto in 2024. Held from March 22 to April 1, the series featured eight official ring events, including a CAD $2,000 Main Event that saw 1,600 entries and a massive CAD $2.8 million prize pool. In total, the series awarded over CAD $5.5 million in prize money across more than 6,000 combined entries.
Demand for the WSOPC Toronto 2024 was so high that most events sold out well in advance, meaning there’s definitely an audience for major poker events in the region. The turnout has also set high expectations for the WSOPC Toronto 2025 edition — all we can do now is wait and see what this year brings.
