WPT Montreal and Spring Festival in Full Bloom!

WPT Global is a poker operator that rarely sleeps. So, it makes sense that their coming at us with everything they’ve got this spring, including WPT Montreal and the WPT Global Spring Festival Online running simultaneously!

It’s a lot to take in all at once, we know. That’s why we’re breaking down each one for you in the article!

WPT Spring Festival – A Recap Before the Big Bang

At this point, the Spring Festival has been going for quite some time, a little over two weeks for those that are counting. The festivities originally kicked off May 5th, with the online poker action expected to climax this Sunday, May 26th.

While we’ve already discussed the Spring Festival highlights (including Sunday Slams and Rakebacks), it’s time to see what the poker pros have managed to do with them – did they beat on against the current or flop out the first chance they got?

$1,060 WPT Prime Event

With just short of 800 entries (770 to be exact), the $1,060 WPT Prime event was the one to look out for during the Spring Festival. With a $750,000 GTD, who wouldn’t want a piece of the prize.

Ultimately, it was was player “吴念真” who reigned supreme, taking home not only $137,267 in prize money but a $10,400 WPT Championship seat in Las Vegas this December!

What’s to Come

With almost an entire week of poker play in front of us, there are a lot more chips expected to go down until Sunday. As of today, May 21st, players still have time to shoot their shot at the $1m WPT Championship, $500k Spring Festival Championship, and $150k Mini Championship!

Apart from the most coveted events, smaller ones are also running around the clock and across the board. This Tuesday alone is hosting events including the NLHE Turbo Bounty, NLHE PKO Turbo, and Deepstack Turbo 6-Max.

WPT Montreal

Parallel to the online poker action, we’ve also been keeping a close eye on WPT Montreal, which is set to crown its champion tomorrow, May 22nd.

Going into the final day, Dongwoo Ko will be coming in is a the chip-leader and thus continuing his streak from Day 1. Dan Stavila will also be at the final table, both for the WPT Montreal Championship and the WPT Prime Montreal Championship.
