There’s no doubt that last year’s WPT World Championship was one of the poker highlights of 2022. Being the poker tournament with the largest guaranteed prize pool in the world, of course, the tournament enticed a lot of hungry poker players. In fact, the $15 million guaranteed prize pool had such an attraction that it almost doubled: after the registration phase the prize pool had escalated to over $29 million!
Considering this year’s edition of the tournament – which will be held in Las Vegas between the 12th and 18th of December – looks to be even bigger than last year, we’re thrilled to announce that you can qualify to the event for as little as $5!
How Do I Qualify for the WPT World Championship 2023?
Starting the sixth of August, direct qualifiers will commence on the WPT Global poker client. These qualifiers will be played every Sunday up to the start of the championship. There are two different buy-ins for the qualifiers: one for $220 and one for $1 060. The winners will take home packages worth $12 400, with $10 400 being the buy-in for the championship and the other $2 000 being for travel and/or accommodation expenses.
Since the 23rd of July, daily satellites to the Sunday qualifiers have commenced for as little as $5. Last year, the Irishman Stephen Kehoe qualified for $550 and left Las Vegas with a $269 900 prize check after finishing 14th in the championship. With the $5 satellites running every day on WPT Global poker, the players now have good chances to surpass Kehoe’s amazing feat.
If you manage to win a package through the Sunday qualifiers, you can choose to either play Flight A on the 12th of December, or Flight B on the 13th of December. It’s worth mentioning that it’s not possible to convert the package to a cash price. If a player should win more than one package, it is possible to transfer a tournament entry to another person.
During last year’s event, the Canadian Eliot Hudon won the tournament and cashed $4 136 000. Seeing as the 2023 edition of the WPT World Championship will be larger than ever before, there is no reason not to give yourself an honest chance through the $5 satellites.
Good luck to all the players, and remember to have lots of fun at the table!
