Triton Poker Series London Winners: Phil Ivey, Bryn Kenney, and Other Top Pros Hit Big Scores

The 2023 Triton Poker Series London has done what we expected it to do and produced some world-class tournament action, big-money payouts, and epic results. Indeed, with the likes of Phil Ivey winning yet another live poker title and over $1 million, it’s been a great series from Triton.

The high roller series kicked off on July 27 with a live version of GGPoker’s Million$. That event cost $26,500 to enter and record-breaking 162 players were happy to pay for a shot at the title. As is always the case with Triton Poker events, the game’s elite were out in force at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.

Coming out on top after a hard-fought day of poker was Greenwood. Although many of you who follow the tournament circuit might expect to see the name Sam follow Greenwood, it was actually his twin brother Lucas (aka Luc) who got the job done on this occasion.

The Canadian pro hasn’t been as active in poker as he previously was due to the passing of his father in 2020. However, he’s not lost any of the skills that have earned him over $5.7 million in prize money.

Luc Greenwood joined his brother Sam on Triton Poker’s wall of fame after beating Manuel Zapf heads-up. The victory was worth $897,000 and gave Greenwood enough momentum in the series to kick on and win another $112,000 after finishing 10th in Event #5.

Fedor Holz Hangs on to Win First Triton Title Since 2017

Next to take home a Triton title was Germany’s Fedor Holz. The German phenom won his first Triton Poker title back in 2017 but he’s been virtually MIA on the tour ever since.

However, he’s never stopped playing poker. Holz returned to winning ways on the Triton tour late last week after topping a field of 120 entries in Event #2. A heads-up deal with Chris Brewer sealed the deal for Holz and earned him $609,853.

Someone else who returned to winning ways in Event #3 was Espen Jorstad. The 2022 WSOP Main Event winner has continued to notch up cashes on the live circuit, but this is his first win since becoming world champion.

Topping a field of 90 entrants in a $22,400 mystery bounty event and winning $639,000 is great, but to do it by beating Phil Ivey heads-up is even better. Jorstad followed up his win in Event #2 by finishing 3rd in Event #7 for $2.7 million.

Other notable results from the Triton Poker Series London 2023 include:

  • Event #5: $50,000 NLH 8-handed – Ole Schemion – $1,350,000 (112 entries)
  • Event #6: $60,000 NLH 7-handed – Jason Koon – $1,570,000 (104 entries)
  • Event #7: $200,000 NLH 8-handed – David Yan – $3,052,002 (81 entries)
  • Event #8: $30,000 NLH turbo bounty – Pedro Garagnani – $459,000 (96 entries)
  • Event #10: $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha – Seth Gottlieb – $511,000 (77 entries)

Bryn Kenney Proves He’s the Tournament King

Event #9 is missing from the list above for one very good reason: the winner banked the biggest payout of the series. The $250,000 buy-in Luxon Invitational was designed to generate a massive prizepool by bringing together poker’s finest and the amateur world’s richest.

The result certainly lived up to the hype. A total of 118 entries pushed the prizepool to $29.5 million. Almost all of poker’s elite were in the mix, including 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker who finished third.

In the end though, it was tournament maestro Bryn Kenney who claimed yet another title. The American leads the all-time money list and extended his lead even further by taking down the Triton Poker Series Luxon Invitational for $6.8 million.

Kenney’s performance was certainly impressive, but two more names have stolen at least some of the spotlight in recent days. Timothy Adams added another $4.1 million to his bankroll after winning the $125,000 Triton Poker Series London main event.

The Canadian had to come through the biggest ever Triton main event field to secure the win. Not only that, he had to beat a murder’ row of talent that included Stephen Chidwick, Isaac Haxton, and Daniel Cates.

Phil Ivey Remains Poker’s GOAT

Also earning a spot on the Triton Poker wall of fame and proving, once again, why he’s one of poker’s best was Phil Ivey. After coming close in Event #3, the consensus GOAT blasted his way through a field of 61 entries in the $60,000 turbo event.

$1 million might not mean as much to Phil Ivey as it does to some poker players, but it marks his 11th seven-figure tournament score. Add to this the fact it’s Ivey’s fourth Triton title and it’s hard to deny he’s among the greatest to ever play poker.

With a few more tournaments left to play, including the short deck main event, Ivey and everyone else will have another chance to win a Triton title. We’ll bring you the final results as they come in, so come back to PokerListings for more big winners at the Triton Poker Series London.
