It’s hard not to think about poker when talking about Malta. The Mediterranean island is a paradise for live poker player. It’s one of those places where we’ve seen poker legends being created throughout the years.

There’s been a swarm of live poker events in Malta in the past, and many of them have been held at Portomaso Casino. In April, the casino will once again roll out the red carpet, seeing as they will host a legendary live poker event – Malta Poker Festival!

Poker in Paradise

Presumably, many poker players are very excited about this year’s Malta Poker Festival. It’s between the period April 22nd-29th. Portomaso Casino will host the event and judging from the Malta Poker Festival Tournament Schedule, we’re in for a treat. A diversified schedule features a couple of Mixed Games; Sviten Special and H.O.R.S.E. lovers have something to look forward too.

The crown jewel of Malta Poker Festival is, naturally, the €550 Main Event. Even though the official name of the tournament is Malta Poker Festival Grand Event, it should be mentioned that the event is powered by Unibet Deepstack Open. With six unique day 1 flights and €300.000 GTD, there’s good chances this tournament will be one to remember.

There’s another couple of games in this somewhat unique tournament schedule. Some tournaments are hosted by certain poker icons, meaning they will be featured in the events. For instance, Jeanne David – or as the event organizers themselves call her, the “Queen of Mixed Games” will host the H.O.R.S.E. event. Rolf Arne Bechstrøm and Kerryjane Craigie will also be featured in certain events.

Remote Opening Flight in the UK

Players from the UK will have the opportunity to qualify for the second day of the Malta Poker Festival within their own country! The Hippodrome Casino in London will host the first-ever Day 1 of the MPF on March 16th, where 15% of the field will not only qualify for the second day of the event but also lock up a min cash of 900 Euros. Day 2 will be held at the Portomaso Casino in Malta, on April 28th. The chip leader of this remote flight will be awarded a luxurious hotel stay!
