England. Spain. Estonia. Brazil. Canada.

They’re all on the schedule for the 2016 888Live Local series as the “every player” low buy-in series is back, bigger and better after a massively successful 2015.

Including a few early stops up to 31 low buy-in events will be hosted over the year across three different continents with future stops planned in Sweden, the Czech Republic and Chile.

This is the average player’s big chance to play in amazing international tournaments for very little money (or even for free), so don’t miss your window.

Over €1,000,000 in Prize Pools

In 2015 the 888Live Local series went to 17 different casinos, hosting 19 events with an overall tally of 3,375 players.

It generated prize pools that added up to around €900,000 distributed among enthusiastic poker players all over Europe – and even a stop in Brazil.

The series apparently struck a chord with recreational players and 2015 proved to be a huge success. So, for this year, the series will be expanding.

With so many more stops in 2016 the overall prize pool will break the €1m barrier easily but the low, accessible the buy-in will stay the same.

Most of the main events keep their €/$/£220 buy-in with a few exceptions for special events like the Aspers Festival of Poker in October.

Monthly at Aspers; Exciting International Stops

Not surprisingly the main stop for the 888Live Local series will be the Aspers Casino in Stratford, East London, which just hosted a busy cash-game festival last weekend.

888poker now has its own branded poker room at the Aspers casino and this will see regular poker events all through the year. 888Live Local will make nine appearances at Stratford, making it pretty much a monthly event with varying buy-ins.

Five stops will be scattered around Spain, from the Costa Brava to the island of Mallorca, bringing the Iberian Peninsula firmly back on the European poker map.

The stop in Lloret de Mar will feature an additional day of sports activities, only for participants of the 888 event.

Tallinn, Estonia, is also back on the schedule as it’s developed into a poker hot spot in Northern Europe, and the spectacular events in Brazil and Canada will see follow-up events, too.

2016 Season Underway

In the first week of March the inaugural event of the 2016 season took place at Aspers. 590 entries were counted and among the players were Sofia Lövgren, Kara Scott, and Dominik Nitsche.

Among others were a special appearance by poker jester William Kassouf and former Premier League football players Danny Mills and Andy Cole.

The tournament generated over £115k in prizes and marked a promising start to the new season. Check the current schedule below, pick your favorite destination and realize your dream to play live tournaments.

Three Reasons to Play the 888Live Local Series

1. Easy qualifying. 888poker has a great steps system and offers additional freerolls for you to qualify.

Last year’s events saw up to 40% online qualifiers in the main events! Yet, this high value program is still underrated, so use it, or someone else will.

2. Tournament structures. With 25,000 starting chips and 30-min levels, you’re almost guaranteed several hours of international tournament poker even if you don’t make it to the later stages.

The value for money is outstanding.

3. The atmosphere. Although you’re playing for sizeable prizes and everyone is there to get them, they’re also there to have some fun.

With the vast majority being amateur players these events completely lack the fierce competition you’ll find in higher buy-in tournaments.
