Daniel Negreanu just added another victory to his impressive 2024 run, taking down Event #6 of the PokerGO PLO Series II, a $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. The Poker Hall of Famer clinched his eighth PokerGO Tour title, earning $265,200 after defeating Alex Foxen in a thrilling heads-up battle.
Negreanu Surges to Victory
Day 2 of this $10.1K PLO event kicked off as a tight race between Negreanu and Foxen, both of whom led the final six players after Day 1 action. Negreanu started the day just 65,000 chips behind Foxen, and it didn’t take long for him to edge into the lead during the first orbit of the day.
The final table played out largely as expected, with either Negreanu or Foxen taking out the competition. Foxen briefly regained the chip lead by eliminating Argentinian pro Nacho Barbero, who was the first to bust, finishing in sixth place for $52,000.

Negreanu then turned up the heat and went on an elimination spree, taking out Nick Schulman in fifth place for $67,600. Schulman, a five-time WSOP bracelet winner, couldn’t withstand Negreanu’s aggressive play. Jeremy Ausmus was the next to fall, exiting in fourth place with a $93,600 payout, followed by Matthew Wantman, who battled his way from short stack to a respectable third-place finish for $119,600.
By the time heads-up play began, Negreanu had a commanding 3:1 chip advantage over Foxen. The two poker powerhouses exchanged blows, with Foxen fighting back to narrow the gap, but Negreanu held his ground.
The Final Showdown: Foxen vs. Negreanu
Alex Foxen didn’t go down without a fight, clawing back some chips to narrow the gap. However, the final hand of the tournament was one for the books. With the board showing Q♠ 10♥ Q♥ A♣ 10♦, Foxen went all-in, holding an ace and ten for a full house — tens over aces.
But Negreanu had the better full house with an ace and queen, giving him queens over aces. Foxen’s push couldn’t have come at a worse time, sealing his fate as the runner-up.
