PokerStars Warms Up for SCOOP 2025 with $6 Million Guaranteed Series

The Spring Championship of Online Poker is one of those dates you can’t not mark on the poker calendar — but before the cards hit the air for SCOOP 2025, there’s a warm-up act that’s worth a headline of its own.

PokerStars has announced the SCOOP Warm Up, running April 20–28, with $6 million guaranteed across 78 tournaments. It’s a standalone mini-series designed to get players tournament-ready before the main SCOOP kicks off in May. And yes, there’s even a Ticket Machine on the side.

$6 Million in Guarantees Ahead of SCOOP 2025

The SCOOP Warm Up features 39 distinct events, each offered in High and Low buy-in versions, creating a total of 78 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $2.20 to $1,050. The schedule includes a mix of formats familiar to SCOOP regulars, from freezeouts to progressives.

The closing highlight comes on April 27 with two Main Events:

  • $109 Main Event Low – $1 million guaranteed
  • $1,050 Main Event High – $400,000 guaranteed

PokerStars has positioned the Warm Up as an ideal testing ground for players of all levels — whether tuning up for the high-stakes SCOOP battles ahead or taking their first shot at structured tournament grinds.

A Ticket Machine Giveaway on the Side

Running alongside the Warm Up is the SCOOP Warm Up Ticket Machine, which offers $50,000 worth of SCOOP 2025 tickets to players who put in volume during the weeklong series.

The process is simple. Starting April 14, players can opt in via their Challenges Window. From there, entries are earned by playing SCOOP Warm Up tournaments:

  • Play 3 events = 1 entry
  • Play 6 events = 2 entries total
  • Play 10 events = 3 entries total

Winners will be announced after 00:00 ET on April 29, with prizes including tickets worth up to $1,050 for the upcoming SCOOP series in May.

A Look Back at SCOOP 2024

While we’re waiting on more details for the 2025 edition, it wouldn’t hurt to go down memory lane and see what SCOOP 2024 brought to the table. As you’d expect, last year’s Spring Championship had no shortage of drama. In the $10K Main Event, Mexico’s “Fakhish” secured a first SCOOP title and $948,434 after outlasting Canada’s Mark “AceSpades11” Radoja. The $1K Main went to Brazil’s Paulo “Pauilohpmoraes” Moraes for $493,965, while “greatness_m” claimed the $109 for $241,169.

Denis “aDrENalin710” Strebkov also added to his legacy with four titles and a razor-thin victory in the overall Player of the Series race, earning a $25,000 bonus after overtaking his student “Fal1st” on the final night.

Leaderboard prizes were also claimed by Patrick “pads1161” Leonard (High), “tgrigoletti” (Medium), and “king153246” (Low). The 2024 edition also introduced the SCOOP League, which we’re hoping to see back this season.
