PokerStars is kicking off the 2024 World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) with an exciting new initiative: the WCOOP Boot Camp. This mini-series, running from August 4 to August 19, is designed to help any kind of player to practise well before it all really kicks in with the legendary WCOOP series itself from September 8 to October 2.

The Boot Camp will feature a whopping 80 numbered events across 160 tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from $2.20 to $1,050. One of the highlights is the $109 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event on August 18, which boasts a $1,000,000 guarantee. All the events will be available in different buy-in levels and as you are used to with the WCOOP; With different formats of poker.

To support players in their preparation, PokerStars is offering free training sessions hosted by the experts from BBZ Poker, including founder Jordan “bigbluffzinc” Drummond, a well-respected online regular who has left its marks in the history of high stakes online poker. These sessions will be available from August 3 to August 9 via Zoom recordings, accessible through the BBZ Discord Channel. It’s a rare situation getting these kind of opportunities for free, so the value is superb!

In addition to the training, PokerStars has set up a WCOOP Boot Camp Leaderboard where the top 100 players can earn many added prizes. The top six finishers will each receive a WCOOP Power Path Gold Pass bundle worth $10,000. Other prizes include Power Path Silver Passes and $109 Sunday Million tickets. With the Boot Camp introduction, there is more news from PokerStars side. As with the previous SCOOP edition and the SCOOP league, there will be now a WCOOP league. Meaning that ambassadors Lex Veldhuis, Fintan Hand, Benjamin Spragg, and Parket Talbot, will choose their preferred teams and give the WCOOP another dimension with some healthy competition on the side. There will be a special draft during the next European Poker Tour in Barcelona, including a Boot Camp participant as well!

Moreover, PokerStars is offering $50,000 worth of tournament tickets as part of the Boot Camp festivities. Players who opt-in and compete in at least ten Boot Camp events or cash in at least two will have a shot at winning these tickets, adding even more value to the series. For those looking to get the most out of the WCOOP Boot Camp, PokerStars has introduced a special ticket bundle in the Power Path section of their client.

By redeeming a Silver Pass, players can receive a bundle that includes a $530 ticket, three $215 tickets, six $109 tickets, eight $55 tickets, ten $22 tickets, ten $11 tickets, and $11 worth of tournament dollars. This bundle provides a comprehensive range of entry options for various Boot Camp events, making it easier to participate in multiple tournaments.
