PokerStars Open: A New Look for European Live Poker

While its Christmas promotions have been busy rocking around the poker tree, PokerStars was hard at work shaking things up for the 2025 live poker season – and no, it’s not just another rebrand. The PokerStars Open is here, bringing together the best bits of its old national tours into one unified series. With six stops across Europe — including three brand-new destinations — it’s set to put live poker back in the spotlight.

So, what exactly is the PokerStars Open, and what makes it different? Let’s dive in.

What is the PokerStars Open?

The PokerStars Open is PokerStars’ newest live poker series, replacing its former national tours like UKIPT, EUREKA, and ESTRELLAS with a more streamlined and ambitious format. The series seems to be putting accessibility above all else, giving players the chance to compete at festivals with €1,100/£1,100 Main Events, each backed by a €1M guarantee.

According to PokerStars, every stop on the tour will come with a packed schedule of side events and cash games. Beyond the games, PokerStars is also focusing on making every part of the live experience seamless. Registration is straightforward, tournament tracking is integrated with the PokerStars Live app, and key moments will be live-streamed for fans who want to follow the action from home.

PokerStars Open 2025 Schedule

In addition to its staple tournaments – the Irish Poker Open, Namur, and Malaga – the PokerStars Open is introducing three brand-new destinations for 2025. First up is Campione, located on the stunning shores of Lake Lugano in Italy. In October, the tour will be headed to a somewhat windier Manchester for more live poker action. The year ends in style at Cannes, where players can enjoy poker alongside the glamour of the French Riviera.

Here’s what the schedule looks like for 2025, including the three new locations:

How to Qualify

With the news of a novel live tournament, the logical next question would have to be one of online qualifiers. As the first (and newest) stop on the 2025 tour, Campione will also be opening the season of online satellites starting today, December 19. As the year progresses and other stops draw near, more qualifiers will open ahead of each event, making it easier for players to win a live seat for a fraction of the live tournament buy-in.
