PokerStars Brings Back Big Game on Tour for Season Two, Premiering May 24

PokerStars’ high-stakes home game is hitting the road again. Big Game on Tour returns for a second season this May, with a new cast of poker stars — and one mystery amateur — ready to battle it out for cash, pride, and highlight reel glory.

Following the successful revival of the format in 2024, PokerStars has confirmed that the show will air weekly on its YouTube channel starting May 24, with a special audition episode dropping a week earlier on May 17. As before, the focus is on a single amateur — dubbed the Loose Cannon — staked with $50,000 and tasked with trying to keep any profit they earn at the table.

Gerard Piqué, Jennifer Tilly, and More Join the Big Game on Tour

The first table of Season Two brings together a cast that blends poker pedigree with mainstream star power. Among those confirmed for the opening round are:

  • Gerard Piqué, former FC Barcelona captain
  • Jennifer Tilly, poker pro and Hollywood veteran
  • Andre Akkari, Brazilian poker legend and PokerStars ambassador
  • Sam Grafton, Super High Roller regular and PokerStars ambassador
  • Griffin Benger, former Shark Cage winner and EPT commentator

One amateur player will be dropped into this mix as the Loose Cannon — the only player at the table with a limited bankroll and everything to gain. Their identity remains under wraps for now, but PokerStars will release an audition episode on May 17, showcasing the hopefuls competing for the coveted seat.

The Big Game Format: David vs Goliaths, Weekly

For season two, the Big Game on Tour sticks to its signature No Limit Hold’em cash game structure, with blinds fixed and the Loose Cannon staked $50,000. Any profit is theirs to keep — but they leave with nothing if they lose it all.

From the early looks of it, the dynamic will remain at the heart of the show’s appeal, combining the unpredictability of a home game with the pressure of real stakes and elite opposition.

PokerStars ambassador Joe Stapleton summed up the appeal:

The Big Game is what everyone loves about poker… the dream of playing for incredibly high stakes with the atmosphere of your local home game.

Season Two will roll out five episodes, airing weekly on YouTube through late June. Episodes will also be shown on Fox Sports 1, with a two-week delay from their YouTube premiere.

Last Season’s Breakout: Nikki Limo and Loose Cannon Legacy

The return of the Big Game on Tour in 2024 brought a new wave of poker content to fans, with Loose Cannons Nikki Limo and Lily Newhouse becoming standout stories. Limo went toe-to-toe with pros like Phil Hellmuth, Lex Veldhuis, and Jennifer Tilly, while Newhouse cashed out and etched her name into Big Game lore.

With a new Loose Cannon ready to take on the pros — and a fresh lineup of opponents at the felt — Season Two seems to have the same formula that made the show a fan favorite the first time around.
