PokerStars Adds 5 Stops to Festival Schedule Including Korea, Chile

The PokerStars Festival series just got a whole lot bigger with stops in Chile, Marbella, Korea, Uruguay and Manila added for 2017.

The company has already held successful Festival events in New Jersey and London but the schedule for 2017 was looking a little bereft with only Rozvadov in the Czech Republic officially listed.

That all changed today with five more events scheduled between now and September.

PokerStars Festival is the more recreationally-focused tournament series compared to the bigger buy-in PokerStars Championship.

Building on APPT, LAPT Foundation

PokerStars has already had a strong presence at several of the added Festival stops, thanks to the now defunct Latin American Poker Tour and Asia Pacific Poker Tour.

Chile, in particularly, will likely attract large fields as last year’s LAPT event attracted 565 entries.

Marbella, which will take place in June, should also bring a large field with the 2016 UKIPT/Estrellas event there bringing a total of 844 entries.

“We are excited to take our PokerStars Championship and PokerStars Festival across the globe bringing our vision for live poker to a whole new level, ensuring a year filled with far more winning moments than ever before,” said PokerStars’ Director of Live Events, Edgar Stuchly.

“The wide range of poker events on offer in new and exciting destinations shows the expansion of poker and underscores our commitment to growing the game while providing the best live poker experience to players all over the world.”

Here’s a complete look at the PokerStars Festival schedule for 2017:
