Hosted by the iPoker Network from August 3^rd to August 19^th, The Festival Online 2024 came with over €1.5 million in prize money across a jam-packed two weeks of poker tournaments. The €55 Main Event, with a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000, was the highlight, attracting a large number of participants and rewarding the winner with €13,830.05.

In addition to the tournaments, the 2024 edition introduced the Streamers Challenge, where poker streamers competed, adding a an entirely new layer to the entire series – one we’ll surely see back in future editions.

As icing on this Festival cake, the 2024 edtiion also included satellite tournaments, giving players the chance to win packages to the live Festival Series in Malta 2024, running from September 8^th to September 15^th.

Global Poker Storms in With Micro Thunder Series VIII

Staying toe to toe with its online competitors, Global Poker hosted the eighth edition of its Micro Thunder Series last week, running from August 18^th to August 25^th.

Since the series is already in its eight edition, it’s gotten quite the (positive) reputation. The tournament series is widely known for its tiny buy-ins and huge prizes, making it accessible to just about anyone and everyone in poker.

The latest edition promised to be the biggest yet, with a total prize pool of GC 40,000,000 and SC 81,500 across 36 GC events and 36 SC events – and the buy-ins? They started as low as GC 250 and SC 0.25.

Abarone68 Thrills Fans With Newest Poker Challenge

Aaron “abarone68” Barone, poker streamer and 888poker ambassador, ran a “$100k August Challenge” in 2024, playing $100,000 worth of poker tournaments. He updated fans daily and promised to give away 1% of his total winnings to a randomly selected viewer.

So, what happened with that anyway?

Despite initial losses, Aaron hit his goal, winning $96,179 after 14 sessions. He continued playing to increase the giveaway, ultimately surpassing $1,000. In our book, this challenge highlighted the importance of perseverance, focus, and fan interaction in both poker and in streaming.

WPT Global: Summer Festival Comes to an End, Fall Festival up Next!

The WPT Global Summer Festival has finally ended with a more than successful finale. Over 15,850 players from 80 countries participated, competing for a total prize pool of more than $8 million. Key events included the WPT500, WPT Prime, and the $3,500 WPT Championship.

In the WPT500, a player known as ‘两弹一星’ won $83,109. The WPT Prime event saw ‘Sucra71’ win $145,312 and a seat at the WPT World Championship. The highlight of the series, the WPT Championship, was won by ‘pas1161br’, who earned $206,300 and a seat in the World Championship.
