The last two days have been heated in poker Twitter. It’s all because of the 2024 US Presidential Election Results. While some poker pros celebrated Donald Trump’s victory, others expressed regret over Kamala Harris’s defeat and tried to analyze the reasons for such an outcome.
We’ve gathered the most interesting tweets.
Liberal Poker Twitter Reacts to Trump Victory
Justin Bonomo expressed the emotions of many liberals in one tweet.
I'm so fucking angry. Angrier than I've been in a long time. I can't believe we punted so hard to get back to this point

I'll allow myself a couple days to be fucking angry
But after that it's time for all of us to organize, strategize, and resist ✊
While Vanessa Selbst tweeted in a similar vein:
Well not much to say, I think our country is in for another dark period but democracy has spoken so I will hope for the best and keep fighting for a better future for my and all of our kids.

In silver linings, denominating my election bets in BTC meant I was getting like 2.5:1!
Why the Democrats Lost: Negreanu and Boeree Share Their Opinions
Initially, democratically minded Daniel Negreanu criticized the party’s policies – his tweet collected 3M views.

This was not Negreanu’s only tweet criticizing Democrats.

Liv Boeree tried to reconcile and unite the two sides after the results were announced. Her tweet got 6K likes.
If you feel like you won today, it’s more important than ever to be kind to those who feel they lost. Show them that their fears of you were misplaced.

Liv Boeree shared her “Reflections on the Election” on her blog the following day.
As someone who tries, but often fails, to be passionately neutral around political “teams”, I did a remarkably good job of staying emotionally distanced from this particular election cycle. I say remarkably, because the last time I got the news Trump had been elected 2016, I burst into floods of tears in a public restaurant, fully believing the media-riled hype that the effective Antichrist was now the leader of the free world.
This time around… well… just a mellow sense of calm and quiet optimism. No massive joy, but certainly no sadness or distress either. So what changed? That’s an Odyssey way beyond the scope of what’s meant to be a quick and mildly hungover blog, but here’s it boiled down to three reasons: benefit of hindsight, more information about the other side and actually understanding America’s soul…
… Trump won, and I’m quietly content about it. No, it’s not because I’ve gone MAGA. It’s because, despite his many flaws, he ultimately represents America’s core vibes far better than the current instantiation of the Democrats. As much as the old Brit in me cringes at them, his cheesy slogans and self-congratulatory rambling speeches represent a far more productive and inspiring energy state than the woke left’s shame-based morality.
Who Celebrated the Victory and Also Trolled the Democrats?
First, there was Brian Paris, who stayed up for 22 hours watching the election. This is absolutely true. Just look at the bags under Brian Paris’ eyes in the 5-minute video he recorded the next day.
In this video I do a five minute rant about the analysis of the electorate and the betting strategy. How did we perform? pic.twitter.com/rr8pGHBqWG

Robert Mizrachi congratulated the Americans on making the right choice.

David Baker also joined in the congratulations with a dose of sarcasm.

On the eve of the elections, Joshua Arieh recalled a joint photo with Donald Trump. And after the results were published, he shared the contacts of a person who can help with a first-class flight out of the country.
Getting so much entertainment from these comments this morning! https://t.co/e5jgmkvj2P

Mike Matusow called don’t be afraid to be wrong.

Tony G opened a bottle of Macallan Whisky in honor of Trump’s victory.
