Playground Anniversary Week

One of Canada’s premier destinations to play live poker is about to celebrate a birthday – but the presents are going to be for the poker players!  Playground Poker Club located in Kahnawake, Quebec, just south of Montreal opened its doors in 2010 and for their 12^th birthday they are hosting the Anniversary Series which will award 13 Playground Rings to lucky poker players in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, and New England for those who want to venture over the border!

A Bit About Playground Poker Club

Opening in 2010, Playground was established as a destination for poker in Canada and the northeastern part of the United States.  They operate cash games 24 hours a day, 7 days a week spreading No Limit Hold’em and many versions of Pot Limit Omaha at stakes from $1/$2 up to $5/$10.  Weekly tournaments are also held in the enormous tournament area that features over 70 tables and has welcomed events like the PartyPoker Premier League, the PartyPoker Live MILLIONS North America series, and multiple WPT series.

Playground and PartyPoker have had a long-standing relationship that brought high profile events to the club.  Players are even able to move money to and from their global online PartyPoker account to cash in hand at Playground!z

2022 Anniversay Series

The series runs from December 4^th through December 19^th and is highlighted by a $120k Guaranteed event with multiple day 1’s and a $250k guaranteed main event.  The full schedule is below:

*The PG220 Online Day 1’s (Wednesday Dec. 7) are played online but Day 2 is played live.

The PG220 will kick the series off on December 4^th with the first two of seven flights.  With 20 mins levels and 200BB, players may find this tournament plays more like a turbo than a standard tournament.  Online players with access to the global PartyPoker site will be able to play day 1A of this tournament on Dec. 7^th – but will have to get to Montreal to play day 2 should they advance at their own expense.

Bounties are up for grabs in two tournaments in the series: event #4 on December 7^th will see $100 bounties on the line for successful knockouts, while the popular Mystery Bounty format closes the series on December 19^th.  In event #13, mystery bounties will only be awarded once 25% of the players remain and will range from $100 up to $5000.

The main event with a hefty $250k guarantee runs two day 1’s on December 16^th and 17^th.  Players should note that there is a cap of 135 active players during day 1A, but up to 180 players will be on the felt on day 1B.  Each day will end when there is 12.5% of the field remaining, essentially putting them into the money.  Players can play both flights if they choose to, taking their biggest stack with them to day 2 if they survive both day 1’s.

Most tournaments will run with 20 min blind levels – the two exceptions are event #5 – the Deepstack Turbo which features 15 mins levels, and the Main Event #9 which will use 30 min levels.   Most tournaments will cap late registration after the conclusion of level 7, with the exception there being the main event which permits it through level 9.

There is no better present for a poker player than hardware and a load of cash and Playground is offering both to players who want to partake in the birthday celebrations as each event will award the champion a Playground ring!
