During the Christmas season, partypoker is running the MILLIONS Online. This tournament with 4 starting days spread over the next 4 weeks guarantees 5 million dollars in prize money with a buy-in of 5,300 dollars.

Two years ago, partypoker had raised the guarantee for the Christmas edition of the MILLIONS series to a fabulous 20 million dollars. With a buy-in of 10,300 dollars, 2,109 players ensured a prize pool of over 21 million dollars – a record for prize money for an online tournament at that time.

Perhaps the next logical step would have been to increase the guarantee even further, but last year partypoker already waived the MILLIONS series online and in parallel GGPoker secured the rights to the WSOP online. During the WSOP online, more than 27.5 million dollars were played out in the Main Event. Partypoker could not or did not want to try and break this record for now. Therefore, the MILLIONS series was trimmed down to a more humane level.

The buy-in was halved and the guarantee is now 5 million dollars. This still makes the tournament one of the biggest online tournaments this December and it offers a flat blind structure with 4 starting flights and a total of 3 days of play.

In addition to the MILLIONS online Main Event, there will also be a $1,050 partypoker Championship event that guarantees $1,000,000. The tournaments start on 11 December with Day 1 flights each Sunday. On 27 December, both tournaments will continue with Day 2.

You can qualify for both tournaments via significantly cheaper satellites. In fact, you can secure your ticket via the Centroll satellites for just one cent. However, you have to work your way through 5 step tournaments.

Alternatively, you can qualify directly for the partypoker MILLIONS Main Event via the partypoker spins tournaments. These tournaments are expected to be available in the partypoker lobby from December.
