No low cards: Short Deck Week on GGPoker

GGPoker is hosting a huge short deck tournament festival from February 20th to 27th. A total of one million dollars is guaranteed over 72 tournaments.

Short Deck Series on GGPoker

Shortdeck (or 6+Hold’em) offers a high level of action. In this poker variant, the deck is thinned out a little – it is only played with cards starting with the six. In cash games, 6+Hold’em has been the big hit for years. However, this format is rarely offered at major tournaments. On GGPoker, there are almost three dozen small short-deck tournaments every day, but the really big buy-ins and guarantees are almost exclusively reserved for regular Texas Hold’em tournaments.

That will change a little during the Short Deck Series next week. GGPoker already organised a short-deck tournament series last summer. Now the second edition is coming up: from February 20th to 27th, the Short Deck Series will take place on GGPoker with a total guarantee of $1,000,000 over 72 events.

The buy-ins start at $52.50 and go up to $10,300 in the Highroller tournament. Many tournaments are so-called 3-stack tournaments. With a single buy-in, players receive three starting stacks, which they can use at any time until the end of the late registration period.

Short Deck Main Event

There are two Main Events in the series – both of which are also bounty tournaments:

• $525 Short Deck Bounty Main Event with $200,000 guaranteed.
• $52.50 Short Deck Bounty Mini Main Event with $100,000 GTD guaranteed.

The Main Events have multiple start days (“Stage 1”) each day of the week. One such starting day will last until the end of Level 14. Players can play any number of starting days and the final stacks from all starting days will be added up and carried over to Day 2.

The final stages of both Short Deck Series Main Events will start on 27 February at 18:30 CET.
