The World Series of Poker (WSOP) said goodbye to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino for the final time in a grand fashion with the final bracelets awarded on Tuesday.
Australia’s Michael Addamo continued a red-hot year by finding WSOP gold for the fourth time after he defeated a field of 53 entries in Event #87: $100,000 Super High Roller for the massive $1,958,569 top prize.
This was the second bracelet and also the second seven-figure score for Addamo as he previously shipped Event #38: $50,000 High Roller for $1,132,968.
Year of Addamo?

Addamo was silent in the live poker arena while piling on big score after big score battling it out in online poker during the first eight months of the year.
That all changed in September 2021 when he went on an absolute tear for the ages. Addamo more than doubled his live tournaments earnings with The Hendon Mob tracking Addamo at more than $17.2 million in cashes on the live felt with more than $9.4 million coming since September alone.
In addition to two massive bracelet wins, Addamo also notched at the end of September his biggest live score when he won the Super High Roller Bowl $300,000 No Limit Hold’em for $3,402,000. The Australian poker pro also won two Poker Masters Events and notched up two more podium finishes in the Aria High Roller Series.
After his run, Addamo catapulted into second place despite missing out on events during the early part of the year on the 2021 PokerGO Tour Leaderboard, just behind the Bosnian poker legend Ali Imsirovic.

Addamo Parlays Massive Chip Lead into His Fourth Bracelet
Addamo began the third and final day of the $100,000 Super High Roller with more than triple that of any of his four remaining competitors in Henrik Hecklen, Sam Soverel, Kevin Rabichow, and Sean Perry. The event was broadcast on a short delay with hole cards exposed to PokerGO subscribers.
Five big names didn’t make it this far and cashed the event late on Day 2 including Sorel Mizzi (sixth – $331,806), Sam Grafton (seventh – $263,227), Mikita Badziakouski (eighth – $217,274), Bill Klein (ninth – $186,909), and Fedor Holz (tenth – $167,869).
Despite the huge chip advantage, it wasn’t a coast-to-coast victory for Addamo. Sean Perry doubled through Addamo when his ace-jack suited held against ten-nine before Hecklen hit the rail in fifth place for $434,523 when his queen-jack didn’t get there against Soverel’s king-trey.
It appeared it could have been showers for Soverel as soon after as he got it in on the turn with top pair against Addamo’s bottom two pair. Instead, Soverel rivered a better two pair to double into the chip lead.
Perry then hit the rail in fourth place for $590,344 when his sixes proved to be no good against Rabichow’s eights.
Soon after, it was Addamo’s turn to get lucky against Soverel when his jack-ten got there against ace-jack for all the marbles. At this point, Addamo was in clear control with two-thirds of the chips in play.
Addamo then took care of his final two opponents in a quick fashion. The Australian first ousted Soverel in third place for $830,992 when his ace-jack held against ace-ten.
Shortly after, Addamo jammed with king-deuce and was called by Rabichow with ace-six. A deuce spiked the board and Rabichow’s quest for his first WSOP bracelet was over. Rabichow instead took down the healthy runner-up prize of $1,210,487.
