The second largest online poker room has announced a new partnership with the largest and most successful brick-and-mortar casino in Europe.
888poker and the King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, will host a range of tournaments and cash games over the coming year with events around the Deutsche Poker Tour (DPT) and the German Championship of Poker (GCOP).
888Live Local events will also be in play along with a much-anticipated Celebrity High-Roller cash game over a week in late April.
888poker Expands to Czech Republic
Only one month after opening its first branded poker room at the Aspers casino in London-Stratford, the online poker and casino giant is heading for the Czech Republic.
There will be eight different events co-hosted by 888 and King’s, starting later this month with the Deutsche Poker Tour (DPT) from April 28 to May 2.
The main event has a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000 and the buy-in is €159. The direct qualifier online has a buy-in of €30.
The biggest summer event will be the German Championship of Poker (GCOP) from June 2-6 with an €888 buy-in main event that guarantees €200,000.
In addition there are 888Live Local events planned with online satellites already available at 888poker. You can qualify online for all events that are connected to 888poker for as little as one cent.
For the GCOP there is a special prize package to be won that includes the main event buy-in plus five nights for two in a hotel adjacent to the casino.
Tony G, Trickett, ElkY and More
Beginning April 24 a high-roller cash-game week will attract a high-profile field of international players and it’ll be live-streamed with hole cards. The limits haven’t officially been announced but in the past there’ve been €50/€100 games and higher.
Tony G., Sam Trickett, Bertrand Grospellier, Theo Jörgensen, Liv Boeree, Igor Kurganov, Max Altergott, Tobias Reinkemeier, Pius Heinz, Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Ismael Bojang, Niki Jedlicka and many more have already announced they are coming to Rozvadov.
Within just a couple of years the King’s Casino Rozvadov has developed from a small, lesser-known card room on the German-Czech border into a massively successful casino.
In fact King’s manager Leon Tsoukernik – voted Industry Person of the Year at the 2014 European Poker Awards – has turned it into the largest card casino in Europe.
It’s known for offering tournaments on a daily basis including several regional and international poker tours. Both the WSOPC and the WPT have also already been to the King’s Casino to hold events.
It’s also famous for its top-class restaurants and cash games are available for every possible bankroll beginning at €1/€2.
If you want to play in the King’s Casino, it’s located just five minutes away from the border crossing at Waidhaus on the A6. The casino also offers shuttle services to the nearest airports in Nuremberg/Germany (c. 60 min) and Prague/Czech Republic (c. 90 min).
