“King of King’s Casino”: Martin Kabrhel Wins €50K WSOP Europe Diamond High Roller (€529K)

Walls and home turf pay off! Martin Kabrhel proved this once again by winning his third career WSOP bracelet within the walls of King’s Casino in Rozvadov. His previous two bracelets were also won here. Let’s walk through the action.

The €50K NLH Diamond High Roller attracted 30 entries, with only 5 players making it into the money.

Kabrhel started the 9-max with a stack of 26 big blinds and proceeded to knock out every player from 9th to 7th place.

  • Stephen Chidwick busted in 9th. Kabrhel opened with J 9 , Enrico Camosci called, and Chidwick shoved for 6bb with A A . Kabrhel made an isolating 4-bet to make Camosci fold. Chidwick had no outs by the turn: 10 K 6 8 J .
  • Kristen Foxen exited in 8th. Foxen shoved for 14bb from the button with A 5 , and Kabrhel reshoved from SB with J J . Board: Q Q 10 6 4 .
  • Daniel Dvoress was eliminated in 7th. Dvoress shoved for 10bb from the button with 3 3 , and Kabrhel snap-called from the big blind with A 10 . Board: 4 10 7 8 J .

By this point, Kabrhel had climbed into the top 2 with a stack of 48bb (26% of all chips in play).

Key hand at final table for Kabrhel

In 6-max, Martin Kabrhel won a 70bb pot against Sirzat Hissou.

Effective stacks were 50bb. Preflop, Hissou opened from the cutoff with J J , and Kabrhel 3-bet from the small blind holding K 3 .

Flop: 2 4 6 . Kabrhel bet 7.5bb into a 24bb pot, and Hissou raised to 17.5bb. Kabrhel called.

Turn: 8 . Kabrhel bet 5.5bb. Hissou just called.

River: 5 . Both players checked.

After this hand, Kabrhel took the chip lead with 95bb (64% of the chips in play) and continued to dominate until heads-up.

Kabrhel also engaged in a little gambling along the way.

For example, he called Hissou’s 18bb shove with 9 7 .

Niklas Astedt was the bubble boy

While Kabrhel was having fun at the table, playing the widest possible range, the stacks of Niklas Astedt and Viktor Blom were rapidly shrinking. Both were down to 4bb. In the end, Niklas Astedt shoved for 4.5bb with A J and was instantly called by Fahredin Mustafov with K K . The board ran out low: 7 8 2 5 4 .

A Roller Coaster Heads-Up Between Kabrhel and Hissou

In just half an hour, 5-max turned into heads-up with Kabrhel holding 81bb and Hissou 40bb.

They battled each other for two hours, and it was anything but an easy ride for Kabrhel. Here are some interesting hands:

With an effective stack of 27.5bb, Hissou opened with 3 2 , and Kabrhel defended with 8 7 . Flop: 4 5 7 . Kabrhel bet 3.25bb, and Hissou raised to 10bb, Kabrhel called.

Turn: A . Kabrhel bet 16bb — a dream scenario for Hissou.

Now Kabrhel had 17bb, and Hissou 57.5bb.

Kabrhel slowly rebuilt his stack with small pots.

For example, he fired three barrels bluffing with Q-high.

In another hand, Kabrhel bet the flop, checked the turn, and placed a small bet on the river — even the commentators were puzzled whether it was value or a bluff.

Did Kabrhel bluff or bet to get value?

The fate of the bracelet and the main prize was determined by a coin flip for a 45bb pot.

Kabrhel put Hissou all in from the button. Hissou called for a 45bb pot.
