On the second day of the Main Event the 218 remaining players of the 573 entries from the four start days joined forced in a single Day 2. The registration was still open until the end of the first two levels of the day and another 48 entries and re-entries were registered, resulting in a final field of 621 players. This means the Main Event was hitting the official €300,000 guarantee. From the 621 runners 71 places would be paid out, with a min-cash paying €1,000 and first place taking home €59,000.
The chip leader at the start of Day 2 was Pavol Melichar who amassed 223k chips on day 1A, and he used his massive stack well. He survived Day 2 and we’ll be seeing him in Day 3 as well.

The unfortunate last player to bust without receiving money was the German Markus Ganglbauer. He lost a coin flip race against Vladimir Bednar. Ganglbauer was all-in with A K against Bednar’s 10 10 before the flop. The board ran down Q 9 4 10 K , giving Bednar a set. Ganglbauer had to take is leave in spot #72 as all the other players were guaranteed at least a €1k cash.
One more Day or Two?
