The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a 25-cent raise and a long-awaited promotion to night time assistant manager at the afternoon poker news Arby’s.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Daniel Negreanu’s hourly profit in 2013 looking very, very healthy, Ike Haxton crosses winning a 1m pot off of his bucket list and Kara Scott reminds us to keep Wheaton’s Law on our minds at the table.

1) Hourly Salary of Poker Superstar on a Heater: About $6,000

Ever wonder just how closely big-name poker superstars track their wins and losses?

Pretty closely, it looks like, at least for Daniel Negreanu. And certainly happily divulged when he’s in the midst of another great stretch of poker tournament results:

We don’t know exactly how much a cool lesbian assistant and a ton of plaid hats costs, but we’re pretty sure $6k/h will leave some profit left over.

2) Haxton Drags €1m Pot in Grand Final Cash Game

So the rumored €1m buy-in cash game at the EPT Grand Final didn’t materialize as expected — but it definitely got close.

With an army of the game’s best (and most flush) players circling around at the Grand Final in Monaco, they did manage to get a “ho-hum” €500k buy-in game going Saturday night and the action certainly didn’t disappoint.

Featuring famed high rollers Isaac Haxton, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Talal Shakerchi, Sam Trickett and German Niklas Heinecker, stacks did hit the €1m mark for a few players.

The big winner appeared to be Haxton, who bought in for €500k and left with €1.5m for a nice profit along with a checkmark on his life-goal list:

Things didn’t work out quite as well for Blom, it seems, but as always he knows how to take a lemon and make millionade:

3) Scott: Don’t Be a Dick, Man

Semi-coined by former Star Trekker Wil Wheaton at a conference in 2007, the basic premise of “Wheaton’s Law” was initially to show sportsmanship in online gaming.

Eventually shortened to “Don’t Be a Dick,” it’s been a popular online meme since and is a pretty applicable motto to almost every life situation.

It’s pretty +life EV, really. And it’s certainly endorsed by partypoker pro Kara Scott. Posting in her Cardrunners blog today, Scott reminds us how rudeness at the table – particularly “scolding” bad players at the table – is the nut low in every way:

“When we make the poker table an unpleasant place to be, populated by some kind of “cool kids vs the newbies” dynamic, we remove one of the biggest draws for receational players to even want to sit down at the felt. We suck the fun right out of the game.

“A lot of people play poker for fun. This is a hard thing to remember when you’re playing it to pay your bills and getting unlucky against those who see poker as a game to be played for enjoyment. It can be unbelievably frustrating.

“I get that, I do. But causing those people to no longer want to play, will kill the game in the long term.” An old message, sure, but never a bad time to hear it again. Read the full post here.
