Daily 3-Bet: Kanit Up $4.3m, Isildur1 vs. Ivey, Burning Man All-In

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a bowling ball that’s chucked right down the middle of the lane but somehow manages to send all the mid-afternoon poker news pins flying.

You can always send us suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.

In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the Mustapha Kanit’s godlike tournament record, Phil Ivey taking a seat with Isildur1 and poker pros going nuts for Burning Man.

1) Mustapha Kanit’s Mind-Boggling $4.3m Heater

Mustapha Kanit

He’s good.

It’s becoming apparent that Mustapha Kanit is good at poker.

The Italian MTT master has quietly amassed a list of results that would make any poker pro jealous.

Of course this weekend Kanit pulled down the EPT Barcelona €10k High Roller for €738,759.

It was actually his second High Roller title of the year as he also won the EPT Grand Final’s big €50,000 for €1,048,243.

But here’s the thing. As TwoPlusTwo user AADYNASTY recently pointed out, he’s also been on fire in online MTTs as well.

Here’s a look at his utterly-ridiculous list of online highlights over the last 12 months of poker:

  • 3rd in a WCOOP $10k Event — $400k
  • 1st in Sunday 500 — $65k
  • 2nd in Sunday $109 rebuy — $46k
  • 1st FTOPS XXVIII Main Event — $239k
  • 1st SCOOP $2K Turbo — $376,000
  • 1st SCOOP $10k Main Event — $1.3 million

When you combine live and online Kanit has over $4.3 million in earnings in the last 12 months. Will he crack $5,000,000 before the year is over? We wouldn’t bet against it.

2) Isildur1 Still Going Strong as Ivey Enters the Fray

Isildur1 grinding like a boss.

Last week we told you about Viktor “Isildur1” Blom hitting an insane $2.6m in profit over seven days.

Now knowing the Swede’s swingy nature there was a significant chance that he could have lost all that and more by now.

Fortunately we can tell you that Blom is still firmly in the black.

He did hit a rough patch on Saturday that saw him lose a staggering $700k to Sean “WithColor” Rafael on PokerStars but he managed to win $600kk back the following day so he was nearly even for the weekend.

Blom is showing no signs of slowing down, however, and was fully involved with the big 6-Max PLO game that was running earlier today.

An interesting wrinkle developed when none other than Phil “RaiseOnce” Ivey joined the game for a brief period of time.

The game broke relatively early with very little damage done but you might want to keep your PokerStars client open because Blom said he’d return.

Interestingly Twitch personality AdrienFiniXx has been streaming many of Isildur1’s sessions live and providing commentary so you should check that out if you’re looking for a little play-by-play.

3) Boeree, Kurganov Ready to Get Burning

Headdress game is on point.

It’s that time of year again.

We’re talking about when poker’s richest and most elite pile into a gargantuan RV and live in a dust-riddled desert where almost nothing could survive normally.

It happens, honest.

We’re talking about Burning Man of course and it appears the exodus has already begun with high rollers Igor Kurganov and Liv Boeree already in costume.

Get ready to have your social media feed filled to the brim with shirtless poker players, tie-dye T-shirts, unusual goggles and so much dust.

Of course poker pros aren’t the only wealthy group that frequents Burning Man as Silicon Valley’s elite have also made it a prime networking hub.

Check out the video we did this summer about Burning Man with the aforementioned Liv Boeree as well as Max Altergott and Antonio Esfandiari.
