Daily 3-Bet: Ivey Derailed, Matusow vs. Forrest, WCOOP OMG

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is one red pill, one blue pill or a delicious-looking sandwich that makes your afternoon poker news choice that much easier.

Have something you’d like featured in a future 3-Bet? Let us know in the comments.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Phil Ivey’s Twitter account going off the rails with some odd entries, Mike Matusow and Ted Forrest get into it over a reported unpaid $1.8m debt and the WCOOP $10k No-Limit Hold’em final 32 is something to behold.

1) Ivey Stacks Cash, In Matrix

Phil Ivey’s Twitter account has always been an interesting mish-mash of generic social media tropes and actual “Ivey”-esque entries that coule be him at the controls.

You can never be quite sure, though. And that’s part of the magic. Some people hate it; we can’t get enough of it.

But who knows quite what to make of his last two entries. Social media guru gone wild or just Phil showing his real self? The layers of mystery are deep.

2) Matusow Owes Forrest $1.8m for Unpaid Bet?

Another pretty perplexing Twitter exchange popped up over the past week between two 2014 Poker Hall of Fame nominees in Ted Forrest and Mike Matusow.

Or more accurately between Ted Forrest and Mike Matusow’s brother, Scott Matusow. Irregardless the accusations were flying fast and furious, specifically that Mike has stiffed Ted for $1.7m in unpaid debt.

Forrest also offered up a one-on-one $50k challenge in Matusow’s best game, Omaha 8, to resolve the matter one way or the other.

We think he did, anyway. Take all tweets below with a grain of salt though as who knows exactly what the truth is. But it’s an odd pre-cursor to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the November Nine this year.

@ForrestTed @CardPlayerMedia @themouthmatusow wasnt part of that bet for you to submit to drug testing? Mike is weak, I’m not— StockMatusow (@StockMatusow) September 15, 2014

I earned it drug free. Your brother knows he is in the wrong we need to get together and make some kind of arrangement— Ted Forrest (@ForrestTed) September 15, 2014

Let him pay me 50k I will play him a head up Omaha 8 or better freeze out. ( his best game) if I beat him that should prove who I am!— Ted Forrest (@ForrestTed) September 15, 2014

Total freeroll for Mike all it costs him is 50k which he owes me and it costs him nothing if he beats me at his best game— Ted Forrest (@ForrestTed) September 15, 2014

I’m sorry I’m ranting like a mad man about all this. It’s just four years of frustration coming out.— Ted Forrest (@ForrestTed) September 15, 2014
