Daily 3-Bet: High Praise for Ho, CrownUp for REG, Bilzerian Burgled

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a heat-triggered spotlight, 360° of security cams and an impenetrable afternoon poker news steel wall that holds steady.

Have something you’d like featured in a future 3-Bet? Let us know in the comments.

Today in the 3-Bet we find an impressive compliment for Maria Ho, a rising poker star streams for charity and poker playboy Dan Bilzerian gets hit by burglars.

1) DN on Ho: Holds Own w/ Big Boys

We have infinite respect for Battle of Malta host Maria Ho for any number of reasons, not the least of which are her ebullient personality, her infectious enthusiasm and her super-impressive tournament game.

Daniel Negreanu 2015 WSOP Main Event Day 7 5

Knows who has the goods.

We had no idea she was such a killer in the biggest mixed games in Vegas, though.

Poker searchlight Daniel Negreanu weighed in on the 2015 Poker Hall of Fame nominations yesterday and slipped this amazing compliment in while discussing Jennifer Harman:

“As for Jennifer, she is easy to find. She is sitting in the same place she has been for decades, in the Bellagio poker room playing the world’s biggest mixed games. She remains the only woman in the entire world to be a winner in those games.

“An argument could be made that Vanessa Selbt could hang with the big boys if she put in the effort, but as of today, she hasn’t gone that route. The closest thing to a ‘Jennifer Harman’ in terms of being able to hack it with the big boys in the big mixed games, is Maria Ho.”

Which, wow. That’s high praise.

For the record Daniel thinks gender should play zero factor in HOF credentials, health shouldn’t either and John Juanda meets the current criteria best.

2) Fedor WCOOPs for REG

The number of poker players taking to live streaming on Twitch.tv is growing daily inspired primarily, we’re sure, but Twitch end boss Jason Somerville.

Fedor Holz 2015 WSOP Main Event 3

Noble Fedor.

His WCOOP final-table stream hit 37k viewers and he’s back on the case daily entertaining fans and viewers.

Also taking to the airwaves to broadcast some WCOOP action have been poker luminaries Jaime StaplesBertrand “Elky” GrospeliierRupert Elder and Max Silver.

Most interesting, however, might be the addition of German sensation Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz.

The past WCOOP ME winner and 2015 SOPA Rising Star nominee has one of the most interesting poker minds of his generation and is generously sharing his points of view via his new channel.

He’s also generously donating all of his Twitch income to Raising for Effective Giving (REG), which will split his donation 50/50 between the Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) and the Deworm the World Initiative (DtWI).

At last check it was quickly heading upwards of $3,000 but we imagine it’ll grow astronomically once word spreads. Tune in right here to be a part of it!

3) Bilzerian Burgled

Strangely, we were wondering just last month while posting this why Dan Bilzerian hadn’t been subject to a high-profile robbery.

We’ve seen The Bling Ring; we know how it works. He’s always showing off his wealth, letting people know when he’s out of town, etc.

So it wasn’t super surprising to hear it happened last weekend. According to Bilzerian, though, his security system did what it was supposed to do:

“They shattered a glass door in the guest bedroom by the pool. They spray painted the outside cameras with black rubber that totally disabled them, then they waited four hours. They then broke in and did the same with most of the inside cameras.”

“The alarm went off, and the police came to the house right after they broke in.” The prime target, apparently, was his well documented cache of guns.

“It was reinforced with steel, so they couldn’t get in.” He also had a message for any future burglars:

If you gonna break into my house, you should probably bring some guns pic.twitter.com/7xgVUUn6Zq— Dan Bilzerian (@DanBilzerian) September 8, 2015
