Today in the 3-Bet we find another milestone crossed for John Juanda, Poker on the Strip returns at Bellagio and Kevin Hart bites off a big poker bite.

1) JJ Passes $20m

If you weren’t paying close attention at the recent PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo you might have missed Poker Hall of Famer John Juanda winning yet another $1m in live poker tournaments.

John Juanda
Still. The. Boss.

First he finished third in the €25k No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max Shot Clock event for €266,550. Then he casually finished runner-up in the 25k 8-Max HR for €684,900.

Those are sick results for anyone let alone a veteran of the game with cashes dating back to 1997. They also happened to push him up over $20m in career live tournament earnings – something only 10 other poker players in history have accomplished.

There are old timers who have adapted their games to the present – see Negreanu, Daniel and Seidel, Erik – and dozens who have seen the skill of the game pass them by.

John Juanda is of the former. Still a crusher who consistently shows he’s still on another poker level than 98% of the game’s players. As evidence he’s also a very nice guy, he auctioning off 1% of his action in the upcoming $300k Super High Roller Bowl for charity.

(1/2)I’m auctioning 1% of my 300k SHRB action, bid starts at 3k, ends May 13 (23:59PST) all auction proceeds go to @REGcharity #SHRB1%JJ— John Juanda (@LuckBoxJuanda) May 11, 2017

(2/2) My last 2 tourney results (both €25k buy-ins) are:3rd(€266,550)&2nd(€684,900) So pls bid w/confidence! Pay by PayPal/PS$— John Juanda (@LuckBoxJuanda) May 11, 2017

2) POTS Part Deux

Like watching locals and tourists mix it up in some $2/$5/$10 No-Limit Hold’em? How about playing in it?

Check the second edition of Bellagio’s Poker on the Strip – featuring famed VLogger Andrew Neeme and the adventurous Mike X – below. If you’re in to getting in the action when you’re in Vegas, email [email protected].

3) Kevin Hart Ready to Stomp Super High Roller Bowl

Exciting news today re. the final seat to be allocated for the $300,000 Aria Super High Roller Bowl. The celebrity guest has been revealed to be one Kevin Hart – he of the recent, groundbreaking deal with PokerStars and soon-to-be Eddie Murphy to Daniel Negreanu’s Nick Nolte.

Kevin Hart Daniel Negreanu 3
$300k buy-in? OK go.

Even better, the first day of the SHRB will be live streamed via YouTube, Twitch and Facebook Live for all to see. Said Hart in a release:

“I love playing high stakes poker and there’s no better competition than at the Super High Roller Bowl – the world championship of high stakes poker. I am looking forward to all the support and positive vibes from my fans who will be tuning in through Poker Central to watch me stomp all over the competition.”

This is a pretty big deal as outside of the WSOP Main Event the SHRB is the premier event of the summer with all of the game’s greatest players involved.

Hart will (likely) not stomp the competition, of course. But can he actually get deep in a field he’s (assumedly) overmatched in?

If he does catch a break or two it’ll be fascinating to see what develops. Also: Listening to Nick Schulman break down Hart’s playwill be a certifiable treat.
