Daily 3-Bet: $2.6m Isildur Heater, Ivey Seduced, Dan’s ‘Dirty Money’

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a custom-made bustier, some kitten heels and an irresistible swish as you cross the afternoon poker news gaming floor.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Viktor “Isildur1” Blom on a wild, week-long heater, Phil Ivey warns of salacious waitresses at Borgata and Vice Magazine fires a clip at Dan Bilzerian.

1) Blom Up $2.6m w/ 7-Day Heater

Viktor Blom

Even Blom unsure what happens next.

That’s not a typo in the headline.

According to highstakesdb.com Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has booked seven consecutive winning days of online poker to the tune of $2.6m in profits.

That last time that happened … well, we don’t know if that’s actually ever happened before. Real money online poker‘s king of swings moves up and down so fast it’s almost impossible to track.

If it is the first time it’s happened for Blom it’s an interesting time for it. The games have shifted well away from the $500/$1k NLHE Rail Heaven glory days where it might have been easier to pile up big wins.

Now it’s a tough grind in talent-laden mixed games all day, every day. Sebastien Ruthenberg, Sean “WithColor” Rafael and Jacob “Lottenice” Rasmussen were among the donators this week although several more were in on the action.

Blom has also quietly erased his massive downswing from the beginning of 2015 and sits up $1.5m on his PokerStars account for the year. Who saw that coming?

2) Ivey: “Voluptuous Females” a Distraction

Unfair advantage for Borgata?

The lingering $9.6 lawsuit between Phil Ivey and the Borgata in Atlantic City over Ivey’s edge sorting is still, well, lingering in court with no immediate resolution in sight.

According to newly accessed court papers from Ivey’s countersuit Ivey claims the Borgata equally stacks the deck by deploying “curvaceous and voluptuous females” and alcohol to distract high-rollers.

“It distracts you from your playing,” Ivey testified. “I mean, anything they can do to give themselves an advantage. Everyone knows that alcohol impairs your judgment, and they offer that, and they have the pretty cocktail waitresses and they’re all very flirty.

“They’re talking to you . . . I got quite a few [phone] numbers.”

While we’ve never, um, personally experienced that kind of attention at the Gold Coast bowling alley we can totally sympathize.

Pretty much settles it as far as we’re concerned. Pay that man his money!

3) Vice Takes on Dan Bilzerian Myth

Vice takes issue with Bilzerian legend.

Speaking of two not-without-fault parties taking shots across the bow at each other …

Sex, drugs and guns journalism purveyor Vice Magazine took a swipe at infamous sex, drugs, guns and poker advocate Dan Bilzerian in a new piece written by Associate Editor Drew Millard.

Millard’s primary beef is that Bilzerian got his start on the road to “fame,”so to speak, with money inherited from his dad Paul, who earned it through illegal trading back in the 80s.

In other words not from the “I’m my own man, earned it all via poker” story Bilzerian fosters.

As with everything from both parties take it with a grain of salt. It’s clear Millard doesn’t really like Bilzerian as lines like “he spends that money the way a badass 14-year-old might” suggests.

The supporting documents are pretty compelling, however.
