Colossus, Monster Stack, Milly Maker Dates Set for 2017 WSOP


Are you ready to make your plans for the 2017 World Series of Poker?

If so the WSOP announced yesterday it has finalized the dates for the signature weekend events for the 2017 WSOP.

Dates for the $565 Colossus$1,500 Millionaire Maker$1,500 Monster Stack and the $888 Crazy Eights events are of particular note for amateur and recreational players as these are the low buy-in, big prize pool events that draw massive fields.

$1m is guaranteed for first place in both the Colossus and the Millionaire Maker.

Colossus Kicks Off June 2-4

The 2017 WSOP’s opening weekend features the return of the world’s largest live poker event, the Colossus.

Almost 44,000 players have bought in to the WSOP’s lowest buy-in event over the past two years and more than $10m was in the prize pool last year.

Colossus III will again be a $565 buy-in re-entry No-Limit Hold’em tournament with two starting flights a day over three days – Friday, June 2, Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 at 10am and 4pm. One re-entry per flight is allowed.

The following weekend sees the return of the $1,500 Millionaire Maker – another massive event with a 10am starting flight on June 10 and another on June 11 at 10am.

The 2016 Milly Maker had over 7,190 entries and a $9.7 million prize pool with the top two players both earning over $1m.

Seniors, Monster Stack, Crazy Eights, Main

The following four weekends will see equally massive crowds and marquee tournaments, beginning with the Seniors and Super Seniors events on June 16 & 18.

The $1k Seniors Championship, open to those 50+, has one flight only at 10am Friday, June 16. A single re-entry is available during the open registration period.

Get ready for monster fields.

The $1k Super Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship runs on Sunday, June 18 at 10am, for those aged 65+. 

The next two weekends see the return of the Monster Stack, with its 10x starting stack and $9m prize pool, and the $888 Crazy Eights event, which guarantees $888,888 for first.

The final weekend event is of course the signature $10,000 WSOP Main Event, which has three Day 1 flights starting on July 8 this year. Check the full weekend schedule below.

June 2, 3, 4 – $565 Colossus III – two starting flights a day (10am & 4pm) for three consecutive days

June 10, 11 – $1,500 Millionaire Maker – one starting flight each day at 10am on both the Saturday and Sunday

June 16, 18 – $1,000 Seniors & Super Seniors – 10am start time. Friday for Seniors; Sunday for Super Seniors

June 24, 25 – $1,500 Monster Stack – 10am starting flights on Saturday & Sunday. 

July 1, 2 — $888 Crazy Eights – two starting flights a day (10am & 4pm) for two consecutive days

July 8, 9, 10 — $10,000 Main Event – one starting flight a day (11am) for three consecutive days

Other Events of Note

July 7 — $10,000/$1,000 Ladies Championship — 90% discount for ladies — 11am start time

July 11-13 – $1,111 Little One for One Drop Charity Tournament — Three starting flights, 3pm start. $1,000 NL Holdem with $111 addon to double starting stack.

Reservations Open, Credit Card for Buy-ins Under $10k

If you’re ready to start making plans for you and your friends, room reservations are already being accepted at Caesars’ Las Vegas properties including the host Rio.  

Online registration for events will return in 2017 and players can again use a credit card as a payment option for WSOP tournaments.

Even better, regulatory approval has been granted for transactions up to $10,000, so players can buy into the Main Event and virtually every other event with an approved credit card.
