The two-day Bombay High Stakes Week Main Event concluded with a three-way deal, crowning Estonian poker pro Ottomar Ladva as the official winner. The exclusive high-stakes poker tournament had a €25,000 buy-in, attracting 28 players and generating 8 re-entries. The total prize pool of €873,000 was split among the top six finishers.

People who were enjoying the official live stream of Bombay Club were guaranteed an in-dept analysis as high roller Ranno Sootla accompanied the host Kristjan Laas. They gave this class act of a final table the correct layer of intelligence by taking the viewers on a journey through the minds of a great poker player. And let it be exactly the thing that we have been lacking over the years when it comes to live streams, which are often done on auto-pilot mode.

The high-stakes tournament featured a star-studded field, including renowned players such as Fedor HolzAleksejs PonakovsMartin Kabrhel, Paulius Vaitiekunas, Eelis Pärssinen, Tom Vogelsang, Andras Nemeth, Niklas Astedt, Vladas Tamašauskas, Igor Yaroshevskyy, Matas Cimbolas, and Teun Mulder, among others. Estonian players Henri Käsper, Taago Tamm, Markkos Ladev, and Tim Heath (an Australian representing Estonia as the owner of Bombay Club and Chesterfield Poker Club) also participated.

Final Table Action

The unofficial final table started off with players being fairly deep-stacked. Tom Vogelsang, hailing from The Netherlands, found a double-up early on and this emerged in the situation where feels most comfortable- Opening a lot of action. Sadly for him, he did not manage to reach the money spots as he became the bubble boy of this tournament.

Ottomar Ladva, being praised by the commentators for his strong live poker skills, had the commanding chip lead prior to reaching the money spots, but his chips were slowly disappearing as he had set up after set up to encounter. Ragnar Toompere, the fan’s favourite, kept himself very quiet throughout the entire tournament. He awaited the right spots to play his hands, and it resulted in a nice 4th place for him.

Evgeniy Tereschenko from Belarus was also praised for his excellent poker skills, but it was everything except convincing for him leading up towards the final table. He arrived at the final table and got it in good with his Kings twice in a row to secure double-ups against Joni Jouhkimainen from Finland.

As the play took so long prior to reaching the money as players securely were taking their chances, when they did reach the money, they all were very short-stacked (10BB average). Ottomar Ladva, Who was at some point down to just 2BB, managed to take home most of the prize money as he officially won the event after having made a 3-way deal.

Estonian Success and Global Poker Elite Presence

Beyond Ladva’s success, fellow Estonian Ragnar Toompere finished fourth, cashing €100,400, while Ilya Nikiforov secured fifth place after falling victim to a bad beat.

This Bombay Club event featured an elite lineup of high-stakes poker pros, including Fedor Holz, Aleksejs Ponakovs, Martin Kabrhel, Eelis Pärssinen, and Niklas Astedt.

We are sure that many players from the European High Roller scene and beyond will find their way to the capital city of Estonia more often, to enjoy the games at Bombay Club. Will they be able to compete with Triton Poker at some point? I guess we find out soon enough!
