Banco Casino – Austrian Domination and a Swedish Poker-SM Live Invasion Around the Corner

The Banco Casino Masters was held once again at the Banco Casino in Bratislava. Around 1,200 players would compete in the Main Event for the famous title and the biggest chunk of the prize pool. It was eventually Austrian Ed Mondo who would walk away with all the bragging rights, securing a massive payout of €40,660, leaving plenty of fellow Austrians behind at the final table.

After finished 4th during the Polish Poker Days earlier this year in Bratislava, he more than doubled his live time results at the tournament tables with this result. August will be a fully-packed month with plenty of Series coming to the capital city of Slovakia. Poker-SM Live is about to kick off, where many Swedes are going to compete for the honorable title of ‘Swedish Champion in Poker’. There will be many events available for everyone to enjoy, including several mixed games.

Banco Casino Masters Main Event – Overlay Edition

With the Main Event having a guaranteed prize pool of 250,000, the expectations of receiving many entries in the event were set high, unfortunately they eventually ended up with 37,500 in overlay, which made this event even more valuable for players all across Europe. A total of 1197 entries were counted at the end of the registration period, of which 120 players eventually would find a cash prize. Ed Mondo, a poker player often to be seen at the poker tables in Bratislava, resides in Austria, and dominated the Main Event from beginning to end, securing a massive payout.

Four out of the last Final Nine had the Austrian nationality, and all were competing for the massive first prize which was about double the amount which was set for the second-place finisher.
