All You Need to Know about WSOPC Toronto 2025: The Full Schedule, Qualifiers, and More

As you may have heard, the speculation is over — WSOPC Toronto 2025 is officially happening. A few weeks ago, we hinted at a potential return of the WSOP Circuit to Toronto, based on speculation going around an Ontario-based poker group on Facebook leak. Now, the confirmation is in, and as it turns out, we were right on the money. WSOPC Toronto is back for just the second time, running from April 10 to 22 at the Great Canadian Casino Resort, with GGPoker once again playing a key role in the event.

Let’s break down all the details, from the schedule and qualifiers to the venue and what to expect this time around.

WSOPC Toronto 2025 Event Overview

This year’s WSOPC Toronto stop is expanding on the success of the 2024 edition with a bigger schedule, new event additions, and higher expectations. In poker terms, this means the series will feature 11 official ring events, three more than last year, with total prize pools expected to exceed C$6.5 million.

The Main Event returns with a C$2,000 buy-in, kicking off on April 17 and concluding with its final table on April 21. The C$3,500 High Roller will then pick up on April 21 to 22, while other notable events include the C$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em running from April 12 to 13 and the debut of a Mystery Bounty tournament.

A Few More Notable Additions to the Schedule

  • Ladies Event (April 11): A new C$300 buy-in tournament exclusively for female players.
  • Seniors Event (April 15): A C$400 event for players aged 50+.
  • Mystery Bounty (April 14-15): A two-day C$800 event, bringing the popular format to Toronto.
  • Pot-Limit Omaha (April 16): A C$600 PLO event joins the lineup.

Registration Requirements and Qualifying Opportunities

Now that we’ve covered the most interesting bits, it’s time to get into the technicalities of it all. First of all, to play in any WSOPC Toronto 2025 event, participants will have be registered members of the Great Canadian Rewards program. This is fairly simple to do and players can sign up on-site before entering tournaments.

Online Qualifiers Temporarily Removed

Online qualifiers for WSOPC Toronto 2025 already launched last week on GGPoker Ontario, giving players a chance to win Main Event seats starting from just $1. However, after running for only two days, these qualifiers were unexpectedly taken down.

For now, GGPoker has not provided an official reason for their removal but assured its users that the qualifiers would return “in the near future.” While this is a somewhat assuring, WSOPC Toronto 2025 is now just a month away.

Let’s remember that last year, 324 players won their WSOPC Toronto seats through GGPoker’s online qualifiers, contributing significantly to the C$2.8 million Main Event prize pool. Given the projected growth of the 2025 edition, organizers expect at least 1,700 entries, making these online qualifiers one of the pillars of the WSOPC Toronto 2025.
