888poker Ignites XL Inferno w/ 197 Events, $7.5m Guaranteed

The 888poker XL tournament series is the signature online event of the second largest online poker provider.

The festival has slowly grown with every edition but this year, it’s going to explode. 

Previously a 63-event series with $5 million guaranteed, it’s now going to be a series of 197 tournaments with $7.5 million guaranteed!

The first one will take place in May and new depositors get free satellite tickets.

The XL Inferno

First up is the XL Inferno From May 7-21 with a choice between 197 different events to play. The buy-ins range from $5 to $5,200 so the phrase “there’s something for all bankrolls” has never been as appropriate as now.

There will be slow and fast paced tournaments, high, medium, low, and mini buy-ins, full ring, 8-max and 6-max tables, NLHE and PLO. Feature events will be:

• Event #7, $160 Opening Event, $300,000 guaranteed
• Event #36, $2100 High Roller, $500,000 guaranteed
• Event #37, $215 Mini High Roller, $150,000 guaranteed
• Event #62, $215 Quarterback, $100,000 guaranteed
• Event #97, $160 Tune up, $200,000 guaranteed
• Event #126, $5200 Super High Roller Chip-in, $400,000 guaranteed
• Event #127, $215 Mini chip-in, $100,000 guaranteed
• Event #130, $55 Turbo Chip-in, $10,000 guaranteed
• Event #189, $1050 Main Event, $1.5 million guaranteed
• Event #190, $160 Mini Main Event, $250,000 guaranteed
• Event #191, $30 Micro Main Event, $50,000 guaranteed

Chipping Up for Charity

To support the charitable organization REG – Raising for Effective Giving – 888poker has branded three of the tournaments “chip-in” events (see the list above).

All the fees generated in these tournaments will go to REG. REG supports Effective Altruism and projects all around the world and is spearheaded by top poker pros like Phil Gruissem, Liv Boeree, and Igor Kurganov.

Champion of Champions is Back

After the success of the last XL series’ Champion of Champions event, 888poker has decided to make that one bigger, too.

This time every winner of an event will play in this invitational and the top three of the CoC will win a 2017 Las Vegas WSOP package including hotel, tournament buy-ins and travel costs.

The winner will get a WSOP Main Event package. Second and third will get 888 Crazy Eights packages. The rest of the top 40 will get online tournament tickets.

Deposit and You Shall Receive

Every player that deposits into their 888poker account will receive three tickets to satellites for the XL Inferno main event.

These satellites will be for ticket holders only so there won’t be gigantic fields.

There are also special satellites running for the Opening Event and there are different buy-in levels for you to start with – even freerolls.

Blizzard, Eclipse Incoming

Along with the XL revamp 888poker will introduce two further XL series for 2017 and 2018. In September the new XL Eclipse Championships will arrive and in January 2018 it’ll be followed up by the XL Blizzard. Both will run for 14 days and have $1.5m guaranteed main events.
