A 783-players opening event and a redemption-earning grudge match for Stacy Matuson are a couple of early highlights along with Jonas Kraft winning the €5,300 High Roller earlier this evening.
What’s next on the agenda? Two more starting days for the Main Event and daily live streams to beam all of the action out to poker fans.
Live Stream Daily with Tuchman and Tonka
A new element added to the 888Live event mix is a live stream straight from the festival every day.
From today until Feb. 6 there will be a feature table on air with commentary from the well-known David Tuchman and recently signed Twitch star Parker “tonkaaaP” Talbot.
With hole cards up, coverage begins around half an hour after the event starts each day.
The main event started out today with around 60 entries but there are still two more starting days to come. Plenty of international players are still on their way as well, as long as the weather conditions cooperate.
The grudge match between Kassouf and Matuson started the stream off today and was followed by the final table of the high roller event, won by Kraft heads-up over Martin “Kassouf of the Czech Republic” Kahbrel.
Apart from the main event 888poker will also stream the Ladies Tag Team event featuring Kara Scott, Natalie Hof and more on Sunday.
You can follow the live stream every day right here on PokerListings. Day 1B is scheduled to start at 5 PM local time tomorrow.
One Drop Comes to Rozvadov
In related news from the site of the 888poker Festival, PokerListings has learned from its sources that the King’s Casino will witness one of the biggest events in its history later this Fall.
An official announcement has been refused but the $100k buy-in version of the Big One for One Drop is going to happen during the WSOP Europe this November.
Contracts have been signed for King’s to host WSOP events for the coming five years, ensuring seven WSOP Circuit and two WSOP Europe festivals will be held at the Czech-German border.
A growing list of big-name players and some particularly wealthy businessmen have already committed to coming here for the Big One as well as the King’s Casino continues its tear to become the number one spot for poker in Europe.
Not Quite That Kind of Boss
A point of note for potential future visitors to Rozvadov: The King’s Casino is famous for its high-class catering service with warm and cold buffets free for all players 24/7.
There’s also a separate restaurant where the chef de cuisine of Germany’s most successful football team, Bayern Munich, cooks up his magic once in a while.
All the players sooner or later show up at the buffet, and so did Will Kassouf prior to his grudge match versus Stacy Matuson. Kassouf was particularly impressed with what he found, although we’re not 100% sure he really has that kind of impact yet.
After Leon @PokerroomKings finds out I’m half Lebanese, he puts on this fine Lebanese banquet for the High Rollers! What a guy! Much love ❤️ pic.twitter.com/TqVX6vg9qN
