$200K High Roller With Ivey, Jorstad & Baldwin at Luxon Pay MPP
The Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party (MPP) announced this week that the High Roller Triton Poker Series Cyprus will host a mega high roller event called the Coin Rivet Invitational. This event runs from September 10-12 at the Merit Royal Diamond in North Cyprus and has a buy-in of a whopping $200,000. A singular re-entry is allowed in this tournament.
Similar to the Triton Million held in London in 2019, this event will pair professional players with recreational players. On the first day, the professional and recreational players will play separately and only on the second day will the fields be combined. Which player is a pro and which is a recreational player will be decided by a special committee that includes Paul Phua, Rob Yong and Jason Koon. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 32 recreational players and 32 professionals.
Several players have already confirmed their participation. The tournament recommends that players register in pairs. Each professional should bring a recreational player. Among others, WSOP Main Event winner Espen Jorstad, Rob Yong, Paul Phua, Phil Ivey, Bobby Baldwin, Ben Lamb and Steve O’Dwyer have already confirmed their participation.
Neil Barrett, Business Development Director of Luxon Pay said: “The pairings of the recreational players with the professionals is generating interest in the community and the early confirmations for the event look encouraging – people are interested in who pairs up and which pairing might be considered the favorites to win.”
Luxon Pay MPP Kicks Off on August 19
The Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party kicks off on August 19 with the $1,100 MPP Open, where $1,000,000 is guaranteed. This will be followed by numerous tournaments sponsored by various poker portals. Among others, The Festival Series will also co-host two tournaments. On September 3, thefestival.com PLO 4/5/6 event will be held with a buy-in of $1,100. Three Omaha variants will be played here: Regular PLO, 5-card PLO and 6-card PLO. The following day, September 4, thefestival.com H.O.R.S.E. tournament will take place with a buy-in of $550.
The Main Event of the Mediterranean Poker Party has a buy-in of $5,300 and guarantees a whopping $5,000,000, beginning August 29 and running through September 3.
