How To Search Cash Players Effectively?

When you start playing cash poker games, your opponents’ stats and results of become vital information for you. Of course, you can always just try and google some nicknames but luckily the poker community has already made this as simple as possible with special statistical websites. As an example we chose Statname.net.

Top Poker Rooms’ Cash Players In 2024

Using Statname tools, we found information about the most profitable and unprofitable players of five major online poker networks in the period from January 1st, 2024 to July 15th, 2024.

Quite expectedly, GGPoker players are dominating in Top-10 as well as “anti” Top-10 — you can see it for yourself on screenshots below.

However, since it is possible to filter networks and/or poker rooms and get information separately for PokerStars, iPoker, GGPoker and a few others, that allow Statname to extract statistics from different game types and stakes. Based on this, we created tables with top-players from five of the poker rooms.

How Accurate Are Statistical Websites?

Even when statistical websites try their best in collecting data, they still can’t provide complete coverage, mostly as a result of poker room limitations.

Security teams and software developers working for online poker operators are constantly seeking new solutions to make collecting information from third party clients more difficult. Some of them even use targeted blocks for specific websites. This is what GGPoker did to SharkScope in 2023.

So, before using any tools from Statname or any other websites you should consider all accompanying limitations and restrictions.

How Can I Find Cash Players’ Stats?

If you want to find someone through Statname, you just need to:

  • Open a Statname.net website
  • Create a free account or log-in with a Google/Facebook account
  • Type the player’s nickname in the “Search” field
  • Choose a poker network or poker room, or click on a magnifying glass
  • There you can change a time period to narrow the range of your search.

Statname offers two types of statistical parameters. Short stats’ charts show the most common stats such as VPIP, PFR, 3bet, bb/100, number of hands, favorite limit and Win $. You can also see results in USD of Big Blinds graphs with respect to hands or date.

Further down the page, Statname offers detailed statistics with much more parameters and filters.

Are Statistical Poker Websites’ Tools Free?

The most statistical websites for cash players offer free access only for a limited period of time or up to some limits.

For example, Statname shows every stat for limits up to 0.1/0.25 for free but for higher stakes you need to buy a subscription. Price of the year subscription for three of the most popular types of plans in July 2024 can be found in the tabel below.

Plan / LimitPS / 888 / CHIGGIP
NL/PL/PLO 50$126$126$108
NL/PL/PLO 500$258$258$228

Other Tools For Players

Statname’s developers also offer cash and MTT poker players access to hand histories mining through HandHistoryPoker.com (HIS Hands). If you’re unsure of what mining is — check out PokerListings’ guide for Mining and Hand Converter from Alex Sakuta.

Remember, poker rooms don’t like players using mining during active sessions. It is better to use mining outside poker sessions for study purposes and avoid any potential problems with poker rooms security teams.

Be aware that Statname’s mining does not have constant free access but sometimes developers offer short-time trials. You need to contact the developers through Telegram, Facebook, or via e-mail: [email protected] for prices and purchases.
