Tallinn Summer Showdown
Anne Bezdek navigated through a field of 29 ladies to win the €60 Ladies Event for €552. Check out what Bezdek had to say earlier in the week in an interview with Patricia Rimfire on the break.
The two-day €2,000 High Roller begins at 3 p.m. Players will get a dinner break at around 8:30 and Olympic Park Casino will be treating the players to a special dinner at the OlyBet Bar & Grill.
Sam Lau and Henri Juutilainen are among the players to already register for the event.
Level 20: 6,000/12,000 (12,000)
Entries: 16/285
Frode Alfredsen opened for a min-raise from the hijack and Paulius Jucys defended his big blind. Jucys check-raised the 2 K 3 flop from 21,000 to 70,000 and Alfredsen called. Both players checked the 4 turn before Jucys led out for 75,000 on the 6 river.
Jucys turned over 4 3 for two pair and won the pot after Alfredsen laid down his hand.
Paulius Jucys – 900,000
Frode Alfredsen – 275,000
The €60 Ladies Event has just kicked off with 10 entries in the upstairs arena of the Hilton Tallinn Park. This figure will grow before late registration closes.
Patricia Rimfire interviewed Anne Bezdek about the Tallinn Summer Showdown. Bezdek always plays the Ladies Events if she isn’t in the Main Event.
Unfortunately, Bezdek didn’t make it too far in Day 2. But she will have a chance to have some fun with the €60 Ladies Event kicking off tomorrow at 1 p.m.
The €350 Open Face Chinese (OFC) event is set to begin in a couple of minutes at 5 p.m.
So far, it is purely a Finnish affair registered in the event headlined by Risto Ponnio and Jari Mahonen.
The two-day €250 Friday Deepstack has been creating quite the buzz with many of the players already eliminated from the Main Event planning to join into the action when it kicks off shortly at 3 p.m.
Evy Albrigtsen, Henri Wagner, Peter Warfvinge, and Taago Tamm are among the three dozen players already registered.
Another side event just kicked off in the €440 5-Card PLO PKO at 9 p.m.
Day 2 for the €550 SSD was also scheduled for 9 p.m. but the Main Event won’t bag up for another 15 minutes or so. Floorman Olivier Franceschi announced to the Main Event players not to worry if they advanced to Day 2 of the €550 side event as they will delay the start until at least 9:20 p.m.
The final event in the €120 Short Deck is expected to start as planned at 10 p.m. giving players plenty of options in addition to the non-stop cash games running on the casino floor.

The €230 Pot-Limit Sviten Special just kicked off moments ago with already 24 entries.
Here’s a quick tutorial for those of you not familiar with Sviten Special, a game that combines five-card draw and pot-limit Omaha.
Players are dealt five cards and there is a round of betting. Those still in the hand can draw cards if they choose and get fresh cards. A special rule applies to anyone that selects to exchange just one card. In this case, the card is dealt open for everyone to see. The player then can choose to take another card instead face-down.
Another round of betting takes place after the turn is dealt with a final round taking place after the river. The player with the best PLO hand wins half the pot with the other half going to the player with the best five-card draw hand. A scoop takes place when a player has both the best PLO and five-card draw hands.
